The humans behind this are Scott and Whitney. We’ve been married since 2007 and share our home in Georgia with our two 13-year old felines: Rambo and Lucky.
RAMBO

Scott found Rambo (black and white fluffy Maine coon type) as a little kitten who was hiding from a dog. He has been his sidekick ever since!
Loves: laying in front of the fire, running up and down the hall at full speed, boxes, wrapping paper, and tissue paper
Hates: the sound of the oven turning on, the sound of a knife on a cutting board, and fireworks
LUCKY

We got Lucky (black with three legs!) through a neighbor who was needing to rehome him.
Loves: tuna, snuggling, laying in the sun
Hates: kisses (even though he is the sweetest cat he hates it when you try to get near his face!)
WHY MEOWTAIN CLIMBERS?
We started our first website, HeandSheEatClean.com, in 2011 in order to share our healthy recipes, workouts, and other things that we couldn’t easily find online ourselves.
Once I (Whitney) got involved in animal welfare I also had a hard time finding the needed flyers and information I could use in order to assist the local shelter, rescues, and general public with information and that’s how this website got started!
We’ve both always loved cats but I got really involved in November of 2018 when the fires broke out in Paradise, California. I volunteered virtually matching lost and found cats, trying to help out the rescues from afar.
It was at this time that I realized how much of an issue it was when people do not spay or neuter their cats. I decided that I would help out locally to see how I could assist my own community and here we are!
WHERE DID THE NAME COME FROM?
We love hiking (climbing mountains) and we love cats so we just combined the two. Cats are also pretty good climbers (of things like your leg, the side of your couch…). Plus, we hope to take the next cat we rescue on our hiking adventures with us!
